Prior to starting a VLCD, all patients must undergo a thorough medical history, physical exam, lab studies, and an EKG. This procedure follows strict protocol followed by the ASBP. Additionally, all providers should be trained by the ASBP in Bariatric (weight loss) Medicine. We see all of our patients weekly and monitor blood work monthly. We have the ability to prescribe medications as needed, or more importantly, take you off of your blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes medications as needed. We also collaborate with your Primary Care Physician (PCP.) This partnership allows your PCP to treat your routine medical needs while we focus exclusively upon achievement of your weight loss goals.
