Andrew J. Rodican, PA-C
Andy is the Associate Medical Director and founder of Medical Weight Loss Centers, LLC. A graduate of the Physician Associate Program at Yale University's School of Medicine, Andy continued his specialized training with the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) and the Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education. He is an award-winning, published author and a national speaker. He has served the medical community in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, occupational medicine, and bariatric medicine. His interest in bariatric medicine is a personal one, since he had a history of diabetes, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea, and acid reflux disease before suffering a heart attack in 2002.
Weight loss is Andy's passion and he has successfully treated over 3000 patients in the past two years. Andy lives in Branford, CT with his wife Allison and their one year-old son. Andy is currently one of four PAs in the country to receive a Certification of Advanced Training in bariatric medicine from the American Board of Bariatric Medicine.
Monika V. Piascik, PA-C
Monika attended the University of Connecticut for her Bachelor of Biological Sciences degree and Neuroscience minor. She then attended Eastern Virginia Medical School for the Master of Physician Assistant program. As a certified EMT, she gained experience in the healthcare field as a gastrointestinal assistant. At MWLC Monika now practices in compliance with the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and plans to take the Bariatrics Boards next fall. She is also an active member of the AAPA and ConnAPA. Monika enjoys working with patients to maximize their overall health and well-being.
Linda Armistead RN, CMSRN
Linda is a Registered Nurse (RN) with a Diploma from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for 18 years at the Hospital of St. Raphael before coming to MWLC. She brings with her knowledge and experience in a variety of clinical specialties ranging from Intensive Care Nursing to Orthopaedics. Linda is certified in Medical/ Surgical Nursing. Along with her extensive clinical experience, Linda has first-hand knowledge of our program, where she has lost a total of 110 lbs! Her weight loss success sparked her love of Bariatric Medicine and Linda is now a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. Linda enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, as well as helping our patients achieve their health and weight loss goals.
Elizabeth M. Earley, PA-C
Beth is Senior Physician Assistant/Clinical Coordinator at Medical Weight Loss Centers. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Health Science-Physician Assistant Studies, she has been affiliated with Medical Weight Loss Centers since 2009. Her previous clinical experience includes Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, Occupational Medicine and Acute/Primary Care. A member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, Beth finds great satisfaction helping her patients regain their health, learn new healthy lifestyle changes and reach their health and weight loss goals by following the ASBP guidelines.
John J. Sceppa, PA-C
John is a Senior Physician Assistant at Medical Weight Loss Centers. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, as well as, from Touro College School of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies. For the last ten years, he has been working as a Physician Assistant in Orthopaedics, Spine Surgery and Sports Medicine. He is also an adjunct Physician Assistant at Yale New Haven Hospital and is currently an active member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. He is pursuing formal education in bariatric medicine and plans to sit for the American Board of Bariatric Medicine (ABBM) certification. John is enthusiastic about being a member of the Medical Weight Loss Center’s team and has a passion for Bariatric Medicine and its profound impact on overall medical health and quality of life.
